Synopsis from Goodreads

Shawn O’Callaghan loves his job as a screenwriter almost as much as he loves his family. But this latest project could quite possibly test his patience beyond anything he’s ever had to endure. Generally unflappable, the author he’s thrown into the trenches with pushes every button he has. Sometimes twice. And it doesn’t help that he can’t stop thinking about her in ways that are anything but professional. But how can he help it? The redhead is gorgeous beyond reason—and utterly infuriating.

Bestselling author Lexi Perry is finally about to leave her mark on the world; after all, seeing her dark and dangerous words brought to life is a dream come true. Until she meets the man who is supposed to make that happen. From the minute they laid eyes on each other, it was clear there would be tension, but she had no idea how much until they got down to business. He obviously doesn’t understand her vision. Though she’s having trouble lately too, given all she can picture is what he looks like under his clothes and imagining what it would sound like if he talked dirty to her in that sexy Irish lilt of his.
If they can find a way to meet in the middle, this movie could be one for the ages. As could their love.

Review

Imagine with Me brings us the next instalment of the O’Callaghan family, where the charm of the Irish melts the thickest barriers.

Shawn and Lexi are brought together to create a screenplay for Lexi’s book series; however, they initially clash due to their opposing vision for the screenplay. This is due to their different writing backgrounds, whereas Shawn has been in the movie industry for a while and knows the way in which scripts translate to the screen. While Lexi obviously has a vested interest in making sure the script reflects the vision she had in her books.

Despite their creative differences, there is intense chemistry between Shawn and Lexi they are unable to ignore. The banter between them is highly amusing and helps bring Lexi out of her shell. Agreeing to a fling while they are working together seems like the ideal solution to combat the tension between them and allow them to relax in the process.

Lexi has struggled with social anxiety and reverted to isolating herself away in the name of being an introvert. Being with Shawn helps Lexi push her comfort zone and find herself in the process, Lexi’s character development is an integral part of the narrative. With Shawn encouraging Lexi every step of the way to be herself.

There are some obvious barriers to Lexi and Shawn continuing their relationship beyond the end of their collaboration, notably the distance between their homes. Although it is their own insecurities which are the real problem when the time comes to face their feelings.

I love the way in which Kristen brings the romance to life and gives hope to the reader that there is a happily ever after out there for everyone just waiting to be found.
