Synopsis from Goodreads

Want to know a secret?

It’s about that girl over there.
Don’t look, but she’s the one in the power suit—with the long, black hair and the serious expression, the one I’m about to go on a date with . . .

Yeah, according to her, she “accidentally” donated an obscene amount of money to my charity — The Lineup — to win said date but I found out the truth. Miss. Button Up Blouse has a secret, passionate crush on me.

I didn’t know her name until two days ago, despite the friends we have in common.
Was I oblivious? Probably.
Was I blind to it? Definitely.

But I’m no fool, I see it now. The High Heel Harlot wants more than just a date with Jason Orson, she wants to be able to claim the best butt in baseball as hers.

Here’s another secret . . . she has no idea I know.

Jason is just so much fun and totally in touch with his feminine side; he is utterly adorable with a side of alpha. What a combination.

Both Dottie and Jason have been badly burned by previous relationships, however, Dottie has completely transformed herself to keep everyone at arms length in order to maintain control over every aspect of her life.

Even though Dottie had a huge crush on Jason while they were in college, she never had the courage to approach him. So when she accidentally wins a date with him, she fears all the barriers will not be enough to keep Jason out.

I loved how Jason accepted Dottie for who she was, emotional baggage included. Allowing him to soften her hard edges while not altering her essence. Unfortunately, Dottie’s omission of a section of a business deal sways the precarious balance she has set between herself and Jason.

The omission was made worse by Jason’s own experiences and his ego taking a large hit. Luckily he has amazing friends who are able to talk him off the edge and make him consider the future repercussions of his actions.

Meanwhile, Dottie reaches a new level of self-awareness thanks to the disaster she has brought upon herself. Resulting in a new direction to her life.

But will it be with Jason? You’ll have to find out in The Line Up 😉
