Synopsis from Goodreads

Teddy King excels at many things. Playing hockey. Check. Scoring on and off the ice. Check. Being stupidly attractive … Double check.

I knew him way back when. Before he was the guy everyone wanted a piece of, he was just a rebellious college co-ed and one of my more energetic study partners.

But secrets have a way of getting out, and a steamy encounter from our college days (that we probably shouldn’t have filmed) is about to cause a major scandal. Unless we can work together to stop it.

Teddy’s no stranger to hard work … but the thing he wants most?

Is me.

OHHH MY GOSH I never would have imagined Teddy could be so darn adorable and romantic. Trying to Score is a sweet, smooth story about finally getting and keeping the right person.

Teddy and Sara were hot and heavy in college although they played it casual there was an underlying element of emotion between the two. However, they went along separate paths after their summer break but remained friends with a special side of sarcastic banter.

Although both Teddy and Sara still fantasise about their time together only Teddy has added visual stimulation in the form of one very hot video he kept although he had told Sara all of the copies were deleted!!!! Shockingly Teddy gets hacked and the video is held to ransom. Sara being the legal whizz she steps in as Teddy’s lawyer and agrees with the PR representative to ‘fake’ date Teddy in order to minimise the damage if the video were to be leaked.

Spending additional time together brings out the dormant emotions between Sara and Teddy. Although their arrangement begins as a way to handle the blackmail it soon leads to a way in which they can build on what they began in college.

While the relationship between Teddy and Sara moves at warp speed, it is also been a long time in the background so is understandable that they don’t want to waste any more time apart. I adored the comfort and ease of Sara and Teddy’s relationship, especially the way in which they provided each other with a calm, safe place in their hectic lives 😍

I am going to have to go for the use of sibilance for Trying to Score and say it is a sweet, smooth, sizzling story!!!!!
