She’s been expecting this ever since their latest showdown. She had good reason.

Hottest guy she’s ever seen.
Former fling.
Dumped her in front of all her friends.
At her own party.

So no, she’s not about to forgive and forget just because he sits next to her in class. He thinks all he has to do is turn on those baby blues, and she’ll melt right back into his arms. Please.She’d be crazy to let this cocky player affect her again. (Tell that to her body.)

Charisma Rossi.
Brainy girl with a dash of bad.
The one who got under his skin.
The one he cut loose.

Blaze knows she’s the riskiest prospect at Waylon University, but none of the interchangeable girls he hooks up with have ever made him feel the way she did. There’s absolutely no way he can have the girl and the game.

So why can’t he stop trying to win her back?

Can this wide receiver score the girl or will he make the biggest fumble of his life?

Blaze and Charisma had a short but intense fling which ended very badly when Blaze abruptly ended their ‘thing’ in a dramatic and highly public manner. While neither of them had admitted to wanting more, the connection between them was deep – and because of his growing feelings, Blaze ran scared, in the process setting Charisma’s self-confidence back significantly.

While Charisma is adept at portraying an image of self-confident sassy vixen, internally she still carries the scars from the verbal taunts she endured while going through her awkward phase. With Blaze’s callous tie-cutting, all of Charisma’s insecurities raise their ugly heads. Even by way of the terrible ending and following a period of self-doubt, Charisma still carries affection and passion for Blaze.

Although it was Blaze who ended their blossoming relationship, he did so out of misguided self-preservation. Not having been shown affection/love at all during his childhood, he protects himself by keeping a barrier between himself and everyone else. Although that does often leave him feeling isolated and lonely, he believes it is his path n life to walk it alone 😥 As a result of his growing feelings for Charisma, it also made him realise that she had the power to hurt him or abandon him as so many others had in his life. Hence the self-preservation aspect of the break-up.

Charisma is such a compassionate person and while she does try to hold a grudge against Blaze, her empathetic nature allows her to see the legitimate reason for Blaze’s actions.

Both Charisma and Blaze have internal demons they have to conquer in order to move forward with their lives whether separately or together. I loved how they were able to develop together and give each other the strength to face the challenges before them.

I especially love the epilogues set in the future to show where the characters’ paths take them.

I Hate You is a romance not only between Blaze and Charisma but also one that confirms the belief that before you can truly love someone else you have to love yourself first and that you are deserving of love.
