Synopsis from Goodreads
Ten years. Ten endless years I’ve waited to destroy the man who tore my family apart. But I never thought I’d get the chance… until his daughter walked into my tattoo parlor, looked me in the eye — and had no damned clue who I was.
I never planned on falling for Cassandra Deighton. She’s silk scarves and manicures. I’m scars and rage. Yet I can’t resist when she begs for more, my ice queen who burns with enough heat to sear the soul.
I need to end this. Before she finds out who I am. Before she gets hurt.
But I’m not the only one with secrets. We both have our scars, and if the truth comes out, we could lose everything…
Beg For You has the trademark Sherilee Gray mix of heat and emotional trauma, with flawed characters who are the perfect match for each other.
Cal and Cassy both have the emotional and physical scars from an accident they were involved in 10 years ago. Brought together as a way of Cassy moving past her scars and taking control of her life which has been dominated by father and the blame he has placed on her shoulders.
There is a connection between Cassy and Cal from their first session at Cal’s tattoo parlor, Rocktown Ink. The chemistry between them is off the charts but there is also a deeper connection which can only be forged with someone who has experienced the same pain.
Both Cassy and Cal have a lot of emotional barriers resulting in a public persona they wear like armour in order to protect their very fragile hearts. Yet, they have a bond which enables them to see below the surface to the person they were always meant to be.
There is a lot going on in the plot with insight into the classist society that still exits today as well as the labels placed on people due to their family name, where they live and the way they look. Judgement and preconceived ideas as to a person’s worth are still very much in force. However, there are some surprises in store which challenge these shallow perceptions.
Although Cassy and Cal share a real connection the skeletons of the past soon come to light overshadowing the blossoming relationship between the couple.
My favourite part of Beg For You is the acceptance and admiration Cassy and Cal share for each other 😍 Everything happens for a reason whether it is fate or coincidence, Cassy and Cal belong together.
