Synopsis from Goodreads
Have you heard the rumor around campus about the locker room?
If you haven’t, let me enlighten you: Legend has it if you bring a girl into the sacred after-game domain of the baseball locker room, it will end with a walk down the aisle. One rowdy and naked encounter against the lockers with the girl of your dreams will make her your wife.
Translation: baseball players are stupidly superstitious and believe the locker room has magical powers.
But not all baseball players are superstitious, me included.
So when the girl I’ve fallen for brushes me off, I start to question if I need to switch my way of thinking. Maybe it’s time I finally hand out a coveted invitation to the locker room.
The only question is, will she accept?
I dare anyone not to fall madly in love with Knox Gentry. Unapologetic in his confident to the point of cocky but with the biggest heart imaginable when it comes to the right person. It just so happens that person is Emory with fate bringing the pair together thanks to a fly-away campus map.
Sadly, Emory has a lot of emotional baggage stemming from a long-term relationship and her cheating ex. This has tainted her perception of relationships whereby she projects every insecurity her ex manifested onto Knox. Good job Knox is more than up to the challenge, and with each gesture, Knox stole a little more of my heart.
I understood Emory’s standpoint even though I wanted her to embrace the connection she had with Knox. Completely overshadowed by her ex, Emory lost sight of who she was and the dreams she held for herself. being out of that toxic relationship forced Emory to re-evaluate where she was in her life and where she wanted to be as well as showing her who her true friends were.
Just as I was getting comfortable with the relationship building between Emory and Knox, Meghan pulled the rug from under me when the plot took a very unexpected turn. Although I was not at all happy about the direction of the plot I could understand the decision the characters made in order to move onto their futures. Especially when it made the happily ever after that much sweeter 💕
The Locker Room is full of sass, swoon and Meghan’s trademark quips – prepare to turn into a pile of goo over Knox Gentry – he will make you wish for your own invitation to the locker room😉
