Synopsis from Goodreads

Talk about an embarrassing introduction. On her first day of law school, Kailyn ran – quite literally – into the actor she crushed on as a teenager, ending with him sprawled on top of her. Mortified to discover the Daxton Hughes was also a student in her class, her embarrassment over their meet-cute quickly turned into a friendship she never expected. Of course, she never saw his betrayal coming either…

Now, eight years later, Dax is in her office asking for legal advice. Despite her anger, Kailyn can’t help feeling sorry for the devastated man who just became sole guardian to his thirteen-year-old sister. But when her boss gets wind of Kailyn’s new celebrity client, there’s even more at stake than Dax’s custody issues: if she gets Dax to work at their firm, she’ll be promoted to partner.

The more time Kailyn spends with Dax and his sister, the more she starts to feel like a family, and the more she realizes the chemistry they had all those years ago is as fresh as ever. But will they be able to forgive the mistakes of the past, or will one betrayal lead to another?

Review

Meet Cute is an emotional roller-coaster, taking from the highs of flirtation to the lows of responsibilities all while making you fall in love with all of the characters.

Kailyn is adorable in all her fan-girl glory especially when the object of her teenage crush is also a fellow law student.

Both Kailyn and Daxton thrive on the playful competitiveness they have between them, making them exceed their own expectations thanks to their interactions with the other. However, an incident near the end of law school overshadows their friendship and weighs heavily on Kailyn as she navigates her way post-college.

A chance of fate places Kailyn and Daxton together again after they are both settled into their respective careers. While there are still unresolved issues between the pair, a tragedy forces them into closer proximity and makes them confront their unresolved issues as well as the undeniable chemistry between them.

There is a lot going on in the pages of Meet Cute; with the romance being only a small part of the whole. Meet Cute deals with a lot of emotional issues while retaining an air of hopefulness throughout. The events that have led both Kailyn and Daxton to this point in their lives make them both re-evaluate what they want out of life. It is the way in which we handle change and tragedy that shapes our identities the most.

I would love an extended epilogue for all of the characters set a few years in the future to know exactly what their happily ever after entails **SWOON**
