Synopsis from Goodreads

New York Times bestselling author Gena Showalter returns with a sizzling Original Heartbreakers tale, featuring a rough, tough bad boy brought to his knees by… a kindergarten teacher?

The king of one-night stands…
To inherit–and destroy–his father’s business at long last, Brock Hudson needs a temporary wife. The ruthless ex-military heartthrob has always avoided romantic entanglements. Women are sweet, but vengeance will be sweeter. Or so he thinks. Only one woman will do, but the vulnerable beauty is more than he bargained for—sexier, wittier, and utterly irresistible.

The queen of the deep freeze…
After an abusive first marriage, Lyndie Scott has sworn off relationships. But still, she longs for a child of her own. Turns out, the brawler who used to frighten her with only a glance is the answer to her problems. She agrees to his proposal, with a caveat: spend every night in bed with her, then walk away for good when it’s time to divorce. Even if she’s pregnant.

A marriage of breathtaking inconvenience…
As the days pass too quickly and the nights heat up, Brock battles a sense of possession and obsession. Will the former commitment-phobe convince his wife they’re better off together, or will she pack her bags and go?

REVIEW

We already know a lot about both Lyndie and Brock due to their connection to the other characters in Can’t Hardly Breathe and Can’t Let Go. The timeframe for Can’t Get Enough crosses over with the previous two stories at the beginning, adding insight into the events for the previous two couples as well as recapping the poignant backstories to Lyndie and Brock.

Brock’s upbringing is further revealed providing understanding to his lack of connection to his family in the present. It also goes a long way to helping understand Brock’s fear of emotional attachments after the emotional abuse he endured at his mother’s hands.

Whereas Brock suffered emotionally, Lyndie endured physical torment under the grasp of her father and later her ex-husband. Surviving this trauma has made Lyndie determined to be independent, however, it has also left her feeling as if she is unable to trust her own judgment, especially where men are concerned. I loved seeing Lyndie taking control of her life within the pages of Can’t Get Enough. Reaching a place in her life where she actively seeks help in overcoming the emotional barriers she has in place as a result of the abuse she experienced.

By retrieving her identity she also wants to discover the passion she hasn’t been able to find so far in her life. However, her libido’s sole focus in on Brock. Although Brock internally returns Lyndie’s attraction, maybe even more so, his low opinion of himself stemming from his mother’s emotional abuse prevents him from making himself vulnerable to Lyndie.

When a family incident required Brock’s attention, Lyndie is the one he turns to for help. Setting the foundation on which to build something real together even when they are trying to convince themselves it is fake.

Lyndie is utterly adorable and endearing in a crazy cat lady sort of way throughout Can’t Get Enough, bringing out a side of Brock we haven’t encountered before, a fun light-hearted side who is a complete banter master ♥ I adored seeing Brock’s hard emotional shell crack because of his relationship with Lyndie.

Brock and Lyndie truly compliment each other, with Brock losing the dark cloud hanging over his head and regaining his self-esteem, and Lyndie gaining confidence and security in all aspects of her life. Although their original bargain becomes a barrier in itself to their true feelings. For a womanizer Brock sure is cute ♥

In true Gena Showalter style, there are thriller elements throughout the story stemming from events in the previous books. However, it is the characters and their romance that will steal your heart ♥
