Synopsis from Goodreads
All this duke needs is his duchess…
For five blissful months I’ve been engaged to Dylan Hale, the most handsome, commanding, and wickedly sexy duke in England. For five months I’ve woken up next to the man I love, indulged in secret trysts, and submitted to every delicious desire. Even better? We’ve managed to keep it hidden from everyone. That means no paparazzi scandals, no snide comments from Dylan’s mother, and no harsh public scrutiny. It’s been heaven, but with Dylan’s royal responsibilities looming, our time alone is running out. And while I can’t wait to be Dylan’s wife, I’m terrified that becoming Dylan’s duchess might mean losing myself.
I have loved watching not only the relationship between Dylan and Lydia grow and strength but also Lydia’s character development. Under the care of Dylan and her friends, Lydia blossoms into the wonderful, capable woman she was destined to be.
Five months on from the end of Royal Disaster and there has been somewhat of a role reversal in attitude where publicly proclaiming their engagement is concerned. Lydia had embraced her anonymity and concentrated on her own goals, advancing her career and spending time with her friends without the risk of the intrusion of the paparazzi. While Dylan is bordering on desperate to stake his claim on Lydia publicly.
I loved seeing more of Dylan’s point of view within Royal Treatment asking it easier to understand him and his actions better.
There are still a lot of hurdles for Lydia and Dylan, especially the way in which they are able to balance their respective careers with their personal time and Dylan’s duties as a peer of the realm. Events involving meddling mothers, status hungry exes and the ever present media add to the drama for Dylan and Lydia. Not to mention the undercover operation Dylan has agreed to undertake for MI6!!!
Dylan and Lydia have to trust in their relationship in order for it to work, the outside pressures already mentioned test the stability of the ties they have formed. Ultimately, both Dylan and Lydia must believe in each other and the strength of their relationship to withstand whatever life throws at them.
Parker Swift ties up all the loose ends within the plot and does so in such a way as to leave the reader completely satisfied with the events that have transpired. I look forward to seeing what she has in store next ♥
