Synopsis from Goodreads

There are three little words most guys don’t want to hear on the first date. Not those…I mean these… “knock me up.”

This single gal has had enough of the games, the BS and the endless chase. I know what I want most, and it’s not true love. It’s a bun in the oven, and I’m not afraid to hit up my sex-on-a-stick co-worker to do the job. Ryder is gorgeous, witty and charming — and he’s also a notorious commitment-phobe. That makes him the perfect candidate to make a deposit in the bank of me.

I won’t fall for him, he won’t fall for me, and there’s no way baby will make three.

There are four words every guy wants to hear on the first date — “your place or mine?”

When my hot-as-sin co-worker makes me a no-strings-attached offer that involves her place, my place, any place — as well as any position — I can’t refuse. Besides, I’ve got my own reasons to take her up on her deal even with her one BIG condition.

There’s no way I’ll want more from one woman than any position, any where, any night? Except . . . what if I do?

Note: Be prepared to swoon and fan yourself from the heat! This full-length standalone contains lots of hot baby-making s-e-x, happy tears, naughty jokes and a hot, swoonworthy hero you will fall madly in love with.

I love love love the way in which Lauren Blakely weaves together the characters from the previous books and simultaneously introduces new faces that you know you want to get to know better, the lure of more stories is a dangling carrot to Lauren’s fans.

While I have adored the trio of friends finding their happily ever afters from Penny in The Only One and Delaney in The Hot One, I think Nicole and Ryder’s story if my favourite so far.

Nicole is a strong, independent woman, as a dating/sex columnist she knows what she wants and how to get it, unfortunately she can’t find the passion she craves in her real life relationships. She has a life she is immensely happy with and a wonderful support system in Penny and Delaney as well as her own mother, so when Nicole decides she is over waiting for the right man to settle down with and craving a family of her own to give her over abundance of love to, Nicole makes the decision to go it alone. I have to say I admired Nicole so much, she isn’t impulsive in her decision and you can tell she will make a fantastic mother. The only problem Nicole encounters in her research is the impersonal nature of artificial insemination. Creating her ideal list of genetic traits to pass onto her child makes Nicole realise the one person who matches her checklist is actually her co-worker and fellow relationship guru, Ryder.

Ryder has become bitter and disillusioned where romance is concerned due to the dramatic breakdown of his marriage. While it is understandable in a way, Ryder is holding onto his bitterness at the expense of his career and his true nature. Whereas Ryder was viewed as Mr Relationship he is now more Mr Hook-Up. With his career in jeopardy, Ryder is tasked with rediscovering is romantic mojo or lose everything he has previously built.

Not one to shy away from asking for what she wants, Nicole propositions Ryder for his swimmers 😉 However, she wasn’t expecting the negotiation to include to consenting to getting the sperm donation the old fashioned way 😉 As part of the deal Nicole agrees to help Ryder with his research project on dating and how to get a woman o fall in love with you.

Ryder and Nicole have it all, compatibility and passion, they bring out the best in each other and fell comfortable together.  I loved watching their relationship flourish even while they were trying to pretend they were only together because of their agreement. It is obvious that Ryder and Nicole belong together, even with their unusual arrangement. However, they have a lot of healing to do in order to move forward with the future they deserve.

This series of inter-connected standalones from Lauren just keeps getting better and better, with the promise of new stories with the new faces we have been introduced to in The Knocked Up Plan, I cannot wait to see what is in store for these amazing characters in the future.
