Synopsis from Goodreads

Camilla, “Cami,” LaRue was five years old when she first fell in love with Landon Palazzo. Everyone told her the puppy love would fade—they clearly never met Landon. When he left after graduation without a backward glance, she was heartbroken. But Cami grew up, moved on, and became part-owner of wildly popular restaurant Seduction. She has everything she could want…or so she thinks.

After spending the last 12 years as a Navy fighter pilot, Landon returns to Portland to take over the family construction business. When he catches a glimpse of little Cami LaRue, he realizes she’s not so little any more. He always had a soft spot for his little sister’s best friend, but nothing is soft now when he’s around the gorgeous restauranteur.

Landon isn’t going to pass up the chance to make the girl-next-door his. She’s never been one for romance, but he’s just the one to change her mind. Will seduction be just the name of her restaurant or will Cami let him get close enough to fulfill all her fantasies?

Kristen Proby never fails to produce a romance to set your heart fluttering; pure unadulterated adult fairytales ???

Cami has been in love with Landon for most of her life but resigned herself to him never viewing her as more than his little sister’s friend. Going so far as to seek the type of love she has been missing by marrying another man. Even though she recognised the limitations of her marriage, Cami remains close friends with her ex, to the point of trying to find him happiness by setting him up with other women, lol. Cami is very loving and giving and deserves the same in her life.

Landon is involved in a career-ending accident when he has to eject from the plane he is flying. Re-evaluating his life and settling into his hometown causes Landon to realise what he has been missing in his life – Cami. He has had feelings for Cami for a long time but didn’t think they were appropriate while they were younger and therefore, kept them hidden from most of the people around him. Although his father was able to read him better than anyone. I loved seeing the depth of his feelings and their origin throughout the narrative. Determined to make Cami see how serious he is and has always been about her, Landon sets out to court Cami – boy does Landon give good courting 😉

There is pure romantic magic within the pages of Close to You.

Although there is very little angst in Close to You there are some tear-inducing incidents, both happy and sad. Cami is a little skeptical when all her dreams start to come true, it is as if she is waiting for the other shoe to drop, understandable in a way. I have to say I loved how the story played out, including getting to see the other characters and catching up with the goings-on in their lives.

I cannot wait to see what is in store for Katrina in Blush for Me
