Synopsis from Goodreads

I, Makayla Alexander, am on a mission to reinvent myself. So when a super hot guy boards the plane and flashes his rock hard abs, I pay attention. When he sits next to me and offers me his nuts, I can’t resist. But when I choke on them and he tells me I need to work on my gag reflex, I realize I might be in over my head.

Before I know it we’re in the lavatory and attempting to join the Mile High Club. Let me just say this…anyone who tells you it’s easy to get it on at 37,000 feet isn’t telling you the truth. After the flight attendant busts us for getting frisky in the air, the only thing that can ease my total and complete mortification is the simple fact that I am never going to see him again.

Hours later, I can’t help but wonder if fate will ever allow me to become a new version of myself.

Because Fate, she’s a fickle bitch.

Case in point…my seatmate is my new next-door neighbor.

Even with the whole fate thing we have going on, we are so not meant to be together. He’s all cool and sexy in that make love not war kind of way. Guys like him are dangerous. With that bring-you-to-your-knees body, that handsome-as-hell face, and that dirty, dirty mouth, I guarantee one glance from him wets every girl’s bikini bottoms.

And then there’s me…the quirky girl looking to find herself in California. All I want to do is learn to let loose. Say words like peace and groovy. Bury my toes in the sand. Who knows, maybe even have sex on the beach.

Unable to get him out of my head, I entertain the thought of being more than just friends. I know the idea is absurd. And yet, I go with it. You see Camden Waters gets me. Really gets me. Like no other guy has before.

On this 7-mile stretch of paradise, I decide to keep things simple and just have fun…that is until fate decides to screw with me, again.

Can two people hell-bent on finding themselves realize the search should have ended the day they met? Find out in No Pants Required—a sexy, funny, romantic stand-alone, that will have you hurrying to grab your bathing suit and rushing to the beach to check out every lifeguard on duty.

REVIEW

No Pants Required is a quirky,  fun romance where two lost people are able to find not only themselves but each other.

Think of the most embarrassing, awkward and humiliating thing that could happen in any given situation and you can bet it’s probably going to happen to Makayla. I laughed, I cringed and ultimately I fell in love with Makayla and Cam.

Makayla is the embodiment of a type a personality, boy does she love her lists and he plans. Thrown off kilter by being labelled boring by her douche-tastic ex and coming to realisation that she wasn’t happy with her current life she picks up sticks and moves across country to her best friend, Maggie. Makayla has been on her own since her parents deaths at 16, taken in by her best friends mother, Makayla and Maggie are more like sisters than best friends. So when Maggie challenges Makayla with a list of to-do items in a quest to reclaim herself, Maggie sets out to complete the challenge. Everything from buying a steamy book to joining the mile high club. Little realising the steamy book will lead to finding not only herself but also her soul-mate. There is a story within a story here 😀

While the story is told from a dual viewpoint, he majority of the focus iso n Makayla, I have to say I would have liked to have seen more of Cam’s inner thoughts within the narrative as he is a wonderful character. Having undergone a series of traumatic incidents in his recent pasts, Cam has lost sight of his own happiness and himself along the way. Like Makayla, he crosses the country in order to re-invent himself.

Makayla’s first encounter with Cam is of a voyeuristic nature, although at the time she is unaware of his identity. Although fate throws them together as seatmates on the plane to California and the steamy book ramps up the attraction they feel without the realisation of the previous encounter, until a pivotal moment changes Makayla’s perspective.

There is no escaping destiny, when Makayla discovers Cam is her next door neighbour and works with her best friend. As they get to know each other better there is no espacing their sizzling attraction but more than that they provide a sense of companionship to the other unlike anything they have experienced in the past. However, they both carry the emotional baggage of their experiences and have the nasty habit of projecting onto their current situation.

No Pants Required shows you have to find yourself and be comfortable with who you are before you can truly be comfortable with anyone else ♥ Makayla and Cam not only find themselves but each other with No Pants Required 😉
