Synopsis from Goodreads
Librarian Kinley Foster wants to write erotic romance—the steamy, sexy, curl-your-toes kind of stuff. The problem? She desperately needs a little erotic inspiration. And at a romance convention in Vegas, she finds it…or rather him. The sizzlingly sexy guy who refused Kinley—and her virginity—when she was sixteen.
Now it’s time for a little payback.
Literary agent Ian Thompson is a professional. Mentoring an aspiring author is one thing. Giving her a thorough and thoroughly satisfying sexy education is quite another. Especially when she’s as stunning and deliciously curvaceous as Kinley. Yet Ian can’t help himself when Kinley makes him a wager he can’t resist. A wager that will tempt Ian to cross every professional—and every sensual—boundary in the book…
There are so many things I love about this series, all written by different authors yet set in Vegas during a Romance Convention. Seriously sign me up 😉
In The Seduction of Kinley Foster, Kinley is attending her first romance convention with the hopes of finding an agent to make her debut into the world of erotic romance. Unbeknown to her, her brothers best friend and Kinley’s first love, Ian, is also attending the convention in his capacity as a literary agent. It has been 10 years since Kinley and Ian last had any form of contact, an event that destroyed all of Kinley’s trust and views on relationships. An event she has never taken into consideration that she may have been incorrect about. Although I can completely understand her viewpoint based on the circumstantial evidence.
Ian, under the guise of aiding her brother in looking after Kinley attempts to rekindle their friendship via the promise of assisting Kinley with her writing. Although Ian projects the douche persona to perfection I found I still liked him, I know weird right. With his hurtful comments and the weight of Kinley’s humiliation hanging heavily over the narrative it would be easy to hate Ian. However, there are glimpses into his thoughts and feelings that allow access to the real Ian. There is a vulnerability he doesn’t allow many to see, he has deep feelings for Kinley that he hasn’t admitted even to himself, his struggle to achieve his own romantic hopes and wished while overcoming the awful incident of the past makes his barbs the equivalent of donning emotional armour to protect his heart from the rejection he feels he deserves from Kinley.
Making a deal of seduction and sensual education all in te name of advancing Kinley’s writing skills, what could possibly go wrong 😉
I firmly believe people are destined to come into your life for a reason, this is brilliantly portrayed with the inclusion of the colourful Charlie and Dan within the plot. A seemingly random encounter of being seat mates on the flight to Vegas following an alteration to Kinley’s flight plans places Kinley in the world of personal toys and pleasure parties. I have to say I was a little apprehensive about the way in which this side of the plot would play out but I needn’t have worried, a creative tool to use to progress the plot without taking it into uncomfortable territory. Charlie was like a kinky fairy godmother to Kinley, with more than a hint of psychic to back up her advice.
It was lovely to watch Kinley blossom and remove her barriers as the story progressed.
I always find the ending of these stories a little abrupt but that is only because I become so invested in the characters I want to know what happens next for them.
The Seduction of Kinley Foster is a quick, fun romance that will make you too want to go to every romance convention you can get to 😉
