Synopsis from Goodreads
My name is Oliver Arsen, but my mates call me Ollie.
I live hard and love harder, and it’s love that usually gets me in the most trouble.
According to the greater population, I’m the ultimate jerk.
My affection tends to be short-lived—a quality I’ve been assured multiple times by the fairer sex isn’t becoming—and the leaving part of loving and leaving has always come naturally.
At least, it used to.
She’s an American bombshell and my sister’s best friend—a woman so wrong for me
, it’s written in the waves.
And she’s the reason we’re all here.
The reason I have to go back to explain how it all went wrong.
To the day the jerk started falling.
Thank goodness Max Monroe didn’t keep us waiting for Ollie’s side of the story. The Day the Jerk Started Falling is a stunning delve into the player reforms when he meets THE ONE trope. Although there is nothing trite about Oliver Arsen 💖
The beginning of the story follows the same format as The Day I Stopped Falling for Jerks with the intimate connection via podcast transcripts. Ollie recounts all of the events told by Lucky from his perspective while giving background detail to the questions we all had lingering in the back of our minds from the implosion that necessitated the podcasts. We are all aware there are two sides to every story but how often are we able to take a step back and truly consider the other side when it is our own story. This is the situation portrayed within the narrative of The Day the Jerk Started Falling.
Ollie’s character development and subsequent romanticism inspired by Lucky were truly awe-inspiring. I loved how open he was even when it didn’t portray him in the best of lights, and I completely adored his positive mindset regarding everything that had led to his current predicament – learning to accept the journey as well as the outcome 💕 As a consequence of Ollie’s altered outlook, his positivity has a knock on effect with his other relationship both familial and friendships bringing him closer to the people in his life.
The second half of the book concentrates on the ongoing situation between Ollie and Lucky and whether they can reach a resolution following the outpouring of their hearts over the podcasts. Will Unlucky Lucky finally catch a break and find her true happiness? Will Ollie get to make his grand gesture? What does karma have in store for our star-crossed lovers? In this case, I have to say karma has a warped sense of humour 😉😂 You need to read it to find out how it all comes together – it will be worth it xx
Now I really do need to know if Jordy is getting his own story?????
