Synopsis from Goodreads
A sexy new contemporary romance duet from USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde…
I have the perfect life.
Until the day my husband tragically dies.
Being a single mom and widow was never part of the plan.
When David Calloway enters my life, I have no room for love in my heart.
But he’s determined to do right by me.
Could he be the Wright love?
The Wright Love is a heartfelt delve into the conflicting emotions of moving on with your own life following the loss of a loved one.
It has been a year since Sutton lost her husband, Maverick, suddenly due to an undetected heart condition. A widow at 24 with a toddler to care for, Sutton has been numb to everything but her grief and her devotion to her son. Throughout that time, David has been a constant presence and stable emotional support for Sutton, he truly cares for her with or without the simmering attraction brewing between them.
Sutton has always been rather impulsive and optimistic, carving her own path rather than falling into the family business as would be expected of her. The loss of Maverick has understandably dulled Sutton’s sparkle and left her feeling lost and lonely. Vowing to be open to new possibilities on the anniversary of Maverick’s death opens a wealth of possibilities for Sutton, from a career she would never previously have considered to unearthing the hidden feelings for David.
Sutton is a wonderful character, I loved watching her piece herself back together following the tragedy of the previous year. Sutton’s conflicted feelings were realistically portrayed and easy to empathize with, although I have to say I was in the front line of the cheering section for David from the beginning.
While I adored David, Kyla manages to convey a sense of foreboding throughout the narrative, especially where David’s sudden move to Lubbock is concerned. There are hints throughout about a rift between David and his family about which David is very secretive.
The Wright family are one of my favorite fictional families and I loved seeing them all together again. I love the way they support each other through good times and bad. The Wright Love highlights events from the family’s past and the effect it has on the present adding another layer to the story.
There are a number of interweaving plot threads through The Wright Love ingeniously crafted into the narrative, culminating in one heck of a revelation/cliffhanger that alters perceptions and creates a HUGE barrier for the future. I cannot wait to see how this one plays out (I’m team David all the way ♥)
The Wright Love is the first book in the Wright Love Duet, and Sutton and David’s story will conclude in The Wright One—coming May 29th! Get ready for your newest binge read.
