Synopsis from Goodreads
It’s Christmastime again in Heartbreaker Bay!
When Sean O’Riley shows up at the Hartford Bed & Breakfast for his older brother’s bachelor weekend, he’s just hoping to make it through the weekend. What he’s not expecting is to come face to face with the woman he lost his virginity to a decade ago—a woman he’s never really forgotten.
The last time Lotti Hartford saw Sean, she told him she loved him while he said nothing. Now, ten years later, she’s just looking for a good time. For once, she wants to be the wild and free one, and Sean – the good time guy – is the perfect candidate.
But as the weekend continues, Sean realizes that after a lifetime of being the hook-up king, he’s ready to find happily-ever-after, and he wants it with Lotti. But will she open her heart to him again? As Christmas sweeps through the little B&B, he can only hope love and magic are in the air.
Holiday Wishes is Sean’s story – Finn’s (Sweet Little Lies) younger brother, former trouble- maker turned all round good guy.
All out favourite characters from the Heartbreaker Bay series are included in Holiday Wishes to celebrate thu upcoming marriage of Pru and Finn by way of a bachelor/bachelorette party in a quaint bed and breakfast in Napa Valley.
Shane shows a level maturity that is new to him from the very beginning of Holiday Wishes, wanting to show Finn how grateful for all the things he has done to help Sean. Although he never expected the mini-vacation to lead him to his first love and biggest regret, Lottie.
Sean and Lottie were best friends in high school until one night when they became more, however, Lottie was moving away and Sean’s emotional issues stemming form the loss of his parents resulted in him cutting all contact with Lottie.
Lottie is a romantic at heart and suffered emotionally from the experience at such a young age, unfortunately, it has lead to some serious issues she carries with her into adulthood and affecting all of her romantic relationships as a result.
It is obvious that the chemistry between Sean and Lottie hasn’t dimmed in the ten years they have been apart, they deserve the second chance they have been given even with the physical distance in their lives. There is more than physical chemistry between Lottie and Sean, they seem to understand each other in a way no-one else ever has.
Holiday Wishes is a short, cute, feel good story that brings a sense of continuity to the series as a whole. I loved seeing the progression of all of the characters within the series.
Although I felt as if Sean and Lottie’s story has barely scratched the surface and hope to see a lot more of them included in the future.
I can’t go without mentioning the amazing parrot that is included in Holiday Wishes 😉
