Synopsis from Goodreads

Greyson Crawford works hard by day and plays even harder at night. And he understands and obeys the rules of the game. One, don’t mix business and pleasure. Two, employees are off-limits. So, he’s been eagerly counting down the days until interior designer, Evie Richards is no longer under contract with his Seattle architecture firm. But when that day comes, he realizes there are more obstacles in his way. The biggest…Evie herself.

Until Evie gets asked to be the maid-of-honor in her best friend’s destination wedding, and Evie needs a date. The circumstances are perfect for Greyson to set his plan of seduction into motion. He will happily play the boyfriend for the wedding event if Evie will surrender to his every command and play in his bed.

For Evie, it’s all fun and games until Greyson’s first touch; then she begins to question what’s real. She knows better than to fall for a guy like Greyson—a skirt chasing ladies’ man—but with every slow caress and kinky adventure, she realizes that Greyson knows what he wants, and it isn’t just her body surrendering to him…it’s her heart.

We first met Grey in Heartbreaker, best friend of Maddox, and equally as dominant. Although he does have some serious commitment issues of his own creation, Grey typical adheres to the love them and leave them lifestyle; that is until Evie Richards crosses his path. Although Grey has her in his sights he has to bide his time to make his move due to Evie working as a contractor for his architecture firm.

I absolutely adored Evie, she is the type of person everyone should emulate – kind, caring, forgiving, generous, compassionate – the whole package without losing herself or becoming a doormat in the process.

Evie is aware of Grey’s reputation and although the sparks are flowing both ways, Evie is self-aware enough to realize that she probably wouldn’t be able to handle the aftermath of an affair with Grey. That is until circumstances create an opportunity whereby Grey pretends to be Evie’s boyfriend in exchange for time spent intimately with her. The circumstances themselves are unconventional, Evie is the maid of honor at her best friends wedding who happens to be marrying Evie’s Ex.  Fluffed up, definitely, but Evie is such a wonderful person who believes in true love enough to forgive the betrayal (although I have to say there was no cheating involved).

As Evie and Grey navigate their way through wedding preparations, they get to know each other on a deeper level and to the amazement of them both, they connect on more levels than just the physical. Although their relationship started as fake, it is quickly obvious that it could turn into something real for them both if they are just brave enough to take that leap.

However, there are other personalities at play creating unexpected drama llama for everyone concerned and placing an obstacle in the path of Evie and Grey’s fledgling feelings; exasperated by Grey’s inability to deal with his emotions.

I loved the inclusion of Maddox and Joss in Skirt Chaser, especially the help and guidance they offer Grey. The continuation of their story added a sense of completeness to the story as a whole and I especially adored the epilogue. Love can take you by surprise, happen in a short amount of time but requires bravery and commitment – Grey and Evie alongside Maddox and Joss are terrific examples of how those traits are rewarded ♥
