Synopsis from Goodreads

They say nothing compares to your first kiss,
But our first kiss was orchestrated for an audience.
Our second kiss…that one was REAL.
He cradled my face like he was terrified he’d f*ck it up.
He stared into my eyes until the air buzzed.
Soft and slow, full of sighs and little laughs,
He inhaled me like I was the finest Belgian chocolate,
And he’d never get another piece.
A nip of his teeth, his hand at my waist…
And I was lost.
I forgot he was paying me to be his fake fiancée.
I forgot we weren’t REAL.
Our kiss was pure magic, and before you laugh and say those kinds of kisses don’t exist…
Then you’ve never touched lips with Max Kent, the hottest quarterback in college history.

Get ready for breathtaking kisses, dreamy football players, a heroine who yearns for the guy she can’t have, and a hero who will do anything for the girl he loves…

REVIEW

I am a huge believer in fate, everything happens for a reason and we meet people at certain times in our lives that change to course of our futures. Fake Fiancée is a brilliant example of how fate can bring two people together at possibly the worse time of their lives and the impact creating ripples into the future.

Sunny escapes an abusive father heading toward her mothers estranged family only to find herself in a terrifying car accident, saved by a handsome stranger but unable to discover who her saviour is for fear she will be returned to her father. The connection she felt to the person who saved her life is something she carries with her as she settles into her new reality.

Three years after the accident that nearly claimed her life, Sunny is living comfortably in college, she has an extrovert best friend and an eccentric grandmother who she has developed a close bond with since leaving her father in the past. Given the opportunity to life in a little house in return for a few DIY projects, Sunny finds herself living opposite two of the most famous college football players on her campus.

Max is the star quarterback, driven and focused he has his eye on he ultimate prize, a trophy his NFL playing father failed to secure. the Heisman. Max is willing to do practically anything to ensure he is a contender for the trophy. What he doesn’t want is any scandal or gossip that coud cause him negative publicity and impact his chance of winning. Max has had a strained relationship with his father all of his life which only worsened after the loss of his mother. He is determined to avoid the pitfalls his father made, especially where groupies and cheating were concerned. His avoidance of drama also ended a previous relationship when his girlfriend, Bianca, tried to trap him into marriage knowing Max was destined for great things. It is easy to see where Max’s barriers have stemmed from and why he is so insistent on any relationship being superficial.

One drunk groupie, one damaged car and a whole lot of tension bring Max and Sunny directly into each others paths. Having both suffered through bad break-up and cheating Ex’s, Max and Sunny attempt to out maneuver their Ex’s by agreeing to pretend they are dating. A dangerous game to play with so much chemistry between them. Especially as Max takes the opportunity to use the relationship to generate positive publicity in his quest for the Heisman. As their feelings grow there is always the niggling thought at the back of their minds questioning how much of it is real and how much is for the fake relationship they are perpetuating.

As their feelings for each other deepen, Max and Sunny have to question their emotional barriers and try to work through the issues that have controlled their actions to this point. Both re-living the pivotal moments of their lives that have brought them to this point, one event in particular which connects them on a subconscious level!!!! I absolutely adored the lightbulb moment both Max and Sunny experienced and how it cemented their feelings for each other.
